Sometimes it is important to record the proceedings of a meeting or
conference call. There are several extensions to Skype that allow you
to record a video conference. Among these are the professional
version of Pamela for Skype, and the Supertintin video call recorder.
This page will compare these two plugins, and in the future it will
discuss other options.
Feature comparison
The following table compares Pamela Professional for Skype with
Supertintin. Expnanation of the characteristics in the table can be
found at the bottom of the page:
Notification
It is important that you notify the other party on a call before you
record the call. In some places this is a legal requirement, but even
if neither you nor the other party is in such a location, it is still
the right thing to do to notify the other party and give them the
chance to opt out of the recording. Both Pamela for Skype and
Supertintin provide a configuration option that will automatically
notify the party on the other end of the connection about recording,
and you shuld definitely enable this feature.
